To celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month (March 1st – March

31st) Undiscovered has dedicated this blog post towards all the inspiring women, making their mark on our world. Within this, we have curated a brief selection of our top 5 emerging female designers to watch out for in 2022.

1.

No Sesso

No Sesso is currently based out of Los Angeles and was founded in 2015 by Pierre Hommes.

She has been supported by Autumn Randolph and Arin Hayes in the design process, where

the label looks to celebrate and empower community, individuality and fluidity. The label

name is translated as 'no sex/no gender' in Italian, and it offers just that; an androgynous

approach to fashion where people can express themselves, as they see fit.

2.

Sonia Carrasco

Part of the Central Saint Martin’s alumni network, Sonia Carrasco has developed, working

alongside some of the most famous fashion houses in the world, including Alexander McQueen and Celine. Having now presented 4 collections, Sonia has created a style of her

own, utilising her Spanish roots and exploring the world of knitwear and tailoring. Following

her recent collection, she spoke about how “it was one of those moments where you just

want it all: what you like, what is trendy, what is going to sell well. That was back in 2019,

but I think I have found myself now,” (Vogue Runway).

3.

Mia Joseph

Mia Joseph is the designer and creator of knitwear label MYAE. Founded in London, Mia has

already established herself as a hugely exciting fashion creative, with her brand, MYAE,

being worn by Maya Jama, Jordyn Woods and universally adored by Jorja Smith’s stylist,

Leah Abbott. As a CSM Textile Print Graduate, Mia has expanded from her Depop shop in

2019, to generating a highly sought-after brand label.

4.

Dimitra Petsa

After graduating from CSM in 2018, Dimitra launched her own label, Di Petsa. With a

primary purpose aimed at empowering individuals and inspiring them to be their own

creative muse, Dimitra’s previous studies in performance are visualised in her pieces.

Previous Di Petsa collections have not gone unnoticed and bespoke pieces have been

created for Kylie Jenner and FKA Twigs. An exciting fashion label experimenting with

ongoing creative performance.

5.

Emilie Helmstedt

HELMSTEDT is derived from its Scandinavian creator, Emilie, developing as a Copenhagen-

based brand. The Danish label looks to promote pastel-coloured womenswear with playful

designs for any age group. Emilie graduated from the Royal College of Fine Arts in 2018 and

HELMSTEDT has since been shortlisted for the LVMH Prize. With over 66k followers on
